I guess my family kinda has an undisclosed roles assigned to each of us. My mummy is the clerk cum housekeeper because she does housework and open letters. I am the secretary cum technician because I read letters, repair telephone, fax machine, type invoices, quotations, appeal letters, prepare cheques. My daddy is the money maker in charge of bringing money back to my family. Hahaha.
My daddy has been nagging me about my home PC virus since before my exams. For the past few days, I have been busy with it.
I borrowed Windows CD from my cousin Ah Lun to recover the whole Operating System. The whole wireless network is gone since I recovered the OS. AntiVirus softare also outdated. No Microsoft Office as well.
I called up Singnet. They tried to help but conclusion is that the linksys config gotta be done so Singnet couldnt help at all. They gave me this number which starts with 800. I called and realised I am calling to Philippines! I asked for Singapore number but linksys doesnt have technical support in SG at all. Now I really experience what they mean by outsourcing customer support to India or Philippines. The lady talking to me has got fluent English! =) And her service is really useful. I got my wireless network set up within 10 mins.
Next, I wanna install AntiVirus but the error said the OS is not compatible. So I called McAfee and its Philippine again! OMG. Companies are really outsourcing the customer service to overseas. The man said my OS is too old, doesnt have any service pack at all. McAfee requires an OS with at least service pack 2. He asked me to call Microsoft for guidance. And he gave me an Australia number! OMG. HAhaha. I was so amused can. I asked if I could just install Service Pack from Microsoft website. He said it's not safe and my computer might crash. HAHA.
But I didnt care. I went ahead to install Service Pack from Microsoft Website. After which, I could install my AntiVirus bought yestd from Challenger as well as Microsot Office given by my Xiao Yi. I am so glad that I joined Challenger as member. I thought I wouldnt need anything from there but I have been getting stuff from there recently.
I am such an IT idiot yet I am the most IT knowledgeable in my family. And I always get the sense of satisfaction from going through the process of getting numbers to call and eventually solve the problem. I love calling for help. Dont know must call mah. I dont care if I am irritating the technicians or salesperson by asking stupid questions.
Ohhh, this morning, I also get Canon technician to make a trip to my house cos my fax machine hasnt been receiving faxes and couldnt fax out as well. Since it's one year on site warranty, might as well make use of it. In the end, it's the faulty filter from Singnet causing the disconnection. Poor man, came all the way just to fix the line and he went off.
Last Sunday, we went to Changi Beach to have a short walk.
Yesterday, I brought them to Marina Barrage. =) They havent been there before.
Alot of people are flying kite there! I wanna fly my kite there too! The one I made during Pri School, a hello kitty one! =D
The night cycling I have been looking forward to! Supposed to meet 7pm @ Sun Plaza Park yesterday. And guess what. I went to Festival Park. Haha. I walked all the way from Festival Park to Sun Plaza Park. Waste of my energy reserved for the cycling.
Our bikes rented from the rental shop in Sun Plaza Park.
Ying Ying and me!
Our Bao-ga-liao man for the event!

Arranging our nasi lemak supper.
Our second stopping point @ East Coast Park. Joanna and me!
Actually I kinda really witnessed and experienced the difference in physical fitness between guys and girls. By the time we headed to ECP from Changi V, my butt was already hurting and my thighs were aching! Every cycle I took began to get heavier and heavier. But I saw the guys cycling, it's like nothing to them. They cycled like no one's business, leisurely. And they can just increase their speed as and when they want. Whereas those behind struggling were mainly the girls. I was trying so hard to keep cycling and those guys could just zoooomed past me. Esp those upslopes. Killer manz.
Our logistic lorry with extra bikes following us!
My pri school friend Kingsley and me! I am so glad that he came to support though he was late! He joined us only from ECP onwards. =)
On the way to Marina Barrage, a group of us got lost! We waited near Esplande there, calling for instructions because all of us didnt know the way to Marina Barrage. The stop was a relief actually because I could finally rest a while. There were wide gaps among us along the route. Luckily all the while, I was with some other people. If I were alone, couldnt see anyone infront nor behind, I think I will just dump the bike and take a cab back home. Maybe not, I dont wanna pay for the lost bike. Maybe I will get the cab uncle to drive me and the bike home! =D
Finally we reached Marina Barrage, our 3rd resting point! By then, I K.O. already.
Our resting marshalls!
Ying Ying, me and Verlyn! =)
With our chairman Rezal~
No pics afterwhich cos I sat in Joanna's car instead of cycling back from Marina Barrage to Tampines. Haha. It's a long journey k. I just wanna make sure I get back to Tamp. If I were to cycle, I guess I will end up pushing my bike instead. I dont know, it's quite a nightmare when I thought of Marina Barrage all the way to Tamp when I was at Marina Barrage.
My palms are still a lil sore from gripping the handles of the bike. I really thought we could just cycle slowly while enjoying the scenery from Nicoll Highway etc. But yesterday I was like struggling to cycle as fast as possible from one point to another. The moment I left Changi V, my mind was just occupied by "ECP, ECP, ECP." The moment I left ECP, my mind as just occupied by "Marina Barrage, Marina Barrage, Marina Barrage." As though it's some physical training. Okay, I know, my stamina is poor.
Last fri I went Marina Barrage with Wan Li! Finally after so long. We had been talking about this plan of ours for months! Planned to go last last sat but she couldnt make it in the end.
In the early morning, it was raining heavily. I immediately messaged Wan Li the moment I woke up. Luckily by the time we met, the rain stopped and sunshine out.
We went Carrefour to get our pinic stuff before heading to Marina Barrage.
We bought durians! =)
Wheeee!
jump Jump JUMP!
Took a rest @ the cafe before heading home.
Went on Sg flyer ride yesterday with my uni friends. I was rather nervous cos the ferry wheel is really very high up there. And it's so flat. It can just wobble and fall front or back. In the end, I was the one who kept walking around in the capsule and Angela was the one sitting down most of the time, feeling scared.
On the shuttle bus to the flyer.
Here we go! =) Me, Lynette, Angela and Wenxia. Lynette and Angela came back from their grad trips already. Lynette went to Australia, Angela went to HK. Wenxia will be rushing home after meeting us cos she is flying to Australia the very night.
Our weird neighbour who kept filming us. So I used my camera and shot him back. Haha.
We had lunch at Waraku. =)
And the four of us played pool. I was expecting us to clear only one game in that one hour. Surprisingly we finished 3! Haha.
